Goodwill

A translation — to will goodness toward others. Narcissism and self absorption seems to run rampant in our society. Yet, we can often find those individuals who exude a sense of “good will” and kindness in their demeanor and actions. I recall moments (maybe small gestures but of huge significance to person receiving) of good will in action:

A shopper who corrected a cashier who gave too much change

An individual who gave up his or her seat on train for another

A person in line at a coffee shop who paid for the next ten customers in line

Take Away No. 16:

Can you remember a situation in which you witnessed good-will in action?

How do you feel when recalling the experience?

“When you extend your goodwill in every direction, regardless of circumstances, you begin to see that we are all one.”- Lao Tzu
